Highest ROI Purchases

These are items that I have purchased and if they break, I would purchase again, given how good they are. Highly recommend!

Technology / Productivity
  • Jabra Speak2 40
    • Given how much time I spend daily on Zoom calls, I decided to move away from Bluetooth headsets. A combination of battery life issues and not loving that I had my headphones in for a significant portion of my day. I have loved this device overall. There are additional, upgraded versions, with battery powered and another that has more microphones and a larger speaker, this one suits me just fine. I also love that it glows red when you’re on mute and green when off mute. Well worth the investment. Oh and the sound quality is fantastic, no issues with audio quality (AirPods are notoriously bad for audio quality on video calls). Worth the investment.
  • Kindle Paperwhite (Signature Edition)
    • If I lose a kindle (which I have twice already, sigh) I replace it same, no matter how annoying or inconvenient. It's that great. Pro tip on Kindle, sign up for your local public library (if you live in the Bay Area, the Santa Clara Public Library has an incredible Kindle library, which I use regularly. You can easily check out and hold Kindle books for up to 21 days - amazing!
  • Full Focus Planner
    • I've tried every form of productivity software under the sun. What I've found is that nothing replaces the ease and simplicity of a paper to-do list. Write down tasks and cross them off when done - simple. Most productivity software ultimately turned into a tool to manage my tasks, not a tool to actually help me check off tasks. So, I carry this planner with me everywhere and use it to track all my tasks / goals / priorities. Could you simply use a random piece of paper for a to-do list - sure. But for me, the FFP planner works and keeps me sane and organized. Pricey, yes. But well worth it.
  • Brain.fm
    • I’m not entirely sure what it is, but Brain.fm just works. I use it daily, multiple times every day, whenever I need to focus. Yes, you pay for it. But I’ve renewed it 3x now with no hesitation.
  • Dell 27 In Monitor
    • I purchased 2 of these and now use my Macbook in clamshell while working. Highly recommend. If I were to purchase again, I’d go with USB-C instead of HDMI (cost is slightly more) but no need to spend on a 4k monitor, IMO. I also looked into the widescreen monitors but ended up with dual 27’s, mainly because of how frequently I screenshare and I like having totally separate monitors, probably personal preference.
